NOTHING IS ORIGINAL

Since working for LID iv realised that Fashion is recycled. It's virtually impossible to create a unique style without the influence of someone/something  else.
Therefore I think its perfectly acceptable to take influences from other fashionistas around the world. I stumbled upon http://lookbook.nu/ when researching look books at work and LOVE this site.
So much style crammed into one sight I can hardly contain myself!
Here are a few of my fav's who I will definitly be looking at for future inspiration.

Lucy in Disguise

OMG.... my life has been menial and boring in the last few months but look what good old Richy Ahmed, Dj extraordinare and amazing friend has gone and got me. AN INTERNSHIP AT LUCY IN DISGUISE!!

Lucy in Disguise began as a Luxury Vintage store in Covent Garden last year and is the work of Lily Allen and her Sister Sarah Owen.
Located on the shopping hub bub of Kings street it has thrived this year.
Their aim is to source beautiful one of a Kind vintage pieces and make them attainable for the average young fashion follower.
As well as being able to buy the clothing there is also a rental service along with a salon to perfect your look.

Before the job was a twinkle in my eye i had watched the three part series on channel four ' Lily Allen - from riches to rags ', following the creation and launch of the store.
Although lily and Sarah front the store, their head buyer Kim Nola
n is part of the brains of the business and she is the one which i will be helping and working with.

Now that Lucy In disguise is an established shopping destination not only for Lily fans but also for fashionistas to shop. they are now wanting to extend the favour by launching their own label brand of clothing self titled Lucy In Disguise.

Pieces based on vintage items designed by Lily, Sarah and Nadia Jones (sister of Kim Jones, former Alfred Dunhill creative director and new LVMH menswear style director, and long-time Oasis creative director) are names after prominent names and events through the decades that create our vintage fashion.
Floral prints OBVIOUSLY in Lily motifs are featured along with other items.

I am so unbelievable excited i can not even explain.... start tomorrow at 11 and am gonna blog and document each day .. need to get my beauty sleep now. x x x

FUCKIN BRING IT ON!! now to find some moneys!

I HAVE NOTHING TO DO!!!

Right, well recently I have been finding myself extremely bored of day to day routine...
There are only so many times in a day/week I can procrastinate on face book, looking at how amazing and fun - filled everyone's lives are which only makes me reflect on my own as inferior!

SOOOOOO...

From now on I am going to be thinking about and actually doing some things that will entertain my mind and soul over the next month. I was thinking doing a street style section of my blog... finding some everyday people that can engage and inspire. Doing a little interview etc.

Was also thinking of doing some wider research for my Uni course. I think I will have the sourcing/negotiation/personable side down when it comes to industry ...
but being a buyer is about knowing you target consumer, their wants and needs.
And not just the fashionable (or what I would deem as fashionable) crowd but the day to day mums, dads, office workers, cashiers and tweens/teenagers as they take up 95% of our consumer basis.

When one thinks of Fashion you think of designers and glamour, an untouchable league of people that only the select few can access. I feel like fashion should be for everyone, rich or poor young or old.
fashionable or fashion-less.

If i combine the two ... create a contrast between the people you see on Portabello road, Notting Hill and the people on Kingston High street and compare what each wants and what they perceive as fashion. It will help me gain prospective on the two sides of the spectrum. As well as give me something to do.

Just trying to do something that will benefit me and hopefully make me less depressive!
over and out. x

Zac Posen

The gorgeously tasteful Zac Posen has created a  S/S 11 collection to die for . Right up my street.
Beautifully sheer fabrics with splashes of pink, purple and nude tone prints and feathers float down the runway but with purpose and impact.
Zac dressed to tie in with his red, tangerine and maroon flavoured pieces.
In my eyes he has managed to nail the structured look with a soft finish... tied, crossed and knotted fabric created the illusion of a structured bodice on his dresses whilst draping creates depth and volume to each look
personal favourite.... reminds me of the Alexander Mcqueen
sheer body suit that jessie j was rocking the other day
A touch of lace, screen siren lingerie  glamour mixed with grunge makes for an impressive an innovative collection.

and Zac's rather gorgeous too don't you think!? x x
